Levitate client Land & Water is in the final stages of their work on the River of Life II project along the River Thames in Oxfordshire, creating several new wetland habitats.
The Thames no longer has many of the smaller backwaters and channels that are so beneficial to insects, amphibians, birds, fish and aquatic plant life. Land & Water are therefore excavating a series of backwaters and ponds to slow down and filter water by trapping sediments and removing pollutants while improving biodiversity.
These images were taken on a recent site visit and show one of the new wetland areas created by Land & Water.
To minimise construction traffic all soil from the excavations is being spread on nearby arable land.
